Mary Beth Minton: Managing Director, Finance Director
Mary Beth brings a wealth of financial expertise to Shambhala New York. She previously co-founded and ran the financial operations of a children’s toy company, Zylie and Friends, a highly-acclaimed new toy innovation.  Before that, she was Executive Director of the Red Ribbon Foundation, the largest HIV/AIDS fundraising organization in Connecticut. Her experience in the non-profit world also includes many volunteer roles and participation on several charity boards. She holds an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School. Email


Dan Schreibman
Dan came to Shambhala in 2016. He continues to help out in the virtual New York office while living and working at Dorje Denma Ling, the Shambhala Land Center in Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia. He has done a little bit of almost everything in the New York office over the past few years. Email


Francesca Leo, Marketing Assistant
Francesca Leo is a professional flutist, digital marketing specialist, meditation practitioner, and performing arts medicine advocate and researcher. She is the founder of, an award-winning website and social media platform committed to connecting musicians with resources to treat and prevent performance-related injuries and maintain good mental health. Francesca holds degrees in music performance with a minor in Entrepreneurship from Bowling Green State University and the Manhattan School of Music. Email


Opening for Operations Coordinator
Responsible for the successful delivery of SMCNY programs and practice opportunities. Part-time (10-15 hours/week) with flexible hours other than some evening work when new programs begin. Currently a remote position; this will change as pandemic restrictions are lifted and in-person programs resume. Reports to the SMCNY Managing Director.
1. Program Planning and Delivery:

○ Maintain the program/practice spreadsheet with direction from the Managing Director and P&E committee.
○ Ensure that the SMCNY website calendar and the program/practice spreadsheet are both accurate and consistent with each other.
○ Manage the Center’s zoom licenses and ensure there are no conflicts.
○ Coordinate with community groups to ensure their events are listed on the website.

2. Shambhala Database (SDB) and Website Listings for Programs: Work with Marketing Associate to create and proof SDB listings for programs, and ensure autoresponders are correct.
3. SDB records for students and members: Manage “person” records in the SDB (according to SDB etiquette); manage enrollment records for programs; update member status as needed
4. Program Coordinators/Zoom Hosts — Recruit, train and oversee volunteer program coordinators/zoom hosts.
5. Virtual Office Responsibilities — listen and respond to voice mail daily. Monitor and respond to [email protected] email address.
6. Other — Weekly staff meetings. Help other staff where possible if needed.
Skills — The ideal candidate will have worked in an operational role at a Shambhala center in the past. Knowledge of the Shambhala Database would be immensely helpful but training can be provided. The ideal candidate will also know how to use spreadsheets as tracking and management tools. Knowledge of google docs and sheets is helpful.
