Expressing Generosity

Shambhala New York members come from all backgrounds and walks of life. We share a desire to bring the principles and practice of the Shambhala teachings into our lives, relationships, and work. By becoming a member, you are joining a community of warriors engaged on the path of building a better world.

Becoming a member is a way to make a commitment to our path, express our gratitude for all that we’ve received from Shambhala, and the way we support the Center so the community can continue to thrive and grow. As members, we support Shambhala New York, not just as the place where we practice and study, but as the training ground for future warriors and leaders in the world.

Financial Contribution

Shambhala New York is a non-profit organization and the generosity of our members is vital to the sustainability of our Center. By paying monthly dues, members support basic operating expenses such as rent, utilities, and personnel. Dues and donations account for just over half of our annual budget. Membership enables us to keep program rates affordable and ensures our ability to offer a Generosity Policy, so that our programs are financially accessible to all.

All members contribute financially in the form of monthly dues. We offer the following as suggested contribution guidelines. We are a diverse community of New Yorkers: We simply ask that members give as generously as they can, and appreciate whatever contributions individual circumstances permit.

Student / Suggested minimum

$30+ per month / $360+ annually

$50+ per month / $600+ annually

Dual / Family (includes children under 18)
