Dharma Gathering

The Dharma Gathering is a perfect introduction to meditation practice and the Shambhala teachings, as well as an opportunity to connect with like-minded New Yorkers. The online meditation workshop consists of guided meditation, a talk by one of our teachers, and discussion.

Join us to meditate in a supportive group setting, learn about how to apply the principles of meditation to daily life, and to virtually meet with others interested in mindfulness.

If you’re new to Shambhala NYC, we definitely encourage you to join us on a Tuesday night. Bring your friends!

Please Note: In continuing response to the pandemic, our dharma gatherings will continue online via Zoom. Please subscribe to our email list for updates.

How Does Meditation Influence Restorative Practices? (Online)

with Tune Faulkner

Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.

Restorative Justice sees relationships as central to a healthy, caring environment where people feel like they belong to their community. When someone feels like they belong to their community they are less likely to commit a crime in that community. The approach is conversational rather than like a court hearing. The process is not punitive, we are not in the meeting to decide who’s good or bad, only to talk about the harm that was caused, repairing the harm and learning ways to avoid re-offending.
