"Learn To Tame Your Mind" is a stand-alone, two-hour workshop providing the how and why of mindfulness meditation in the Shambhala tradition. This class offers an excellent introduction to Shambhala Training Weekend I: Feel Human Again, an upcoming retreat offered September 14th-16th at Shambhala NYC.

Open to All

"Meditation is great, but I could never do it." Sound familiar? Sometimes it feels like our mind is more wild and untamed than everyone else's--like our mind is just too discursive for mindfulness practice.

We are so accustomed to speed and entertainment - it’s no wonder our mind often feels overwhelmed and scattered. But with patience, curiosity, and gentleness, we can reconnect with our bodies, our breath, and our basic humanity.

This class will provide and clarify instructions on basic mindfulness-awareness meditation practice, and introduce the Shambhala view of practice: to connect with our inherent wisdom and cultivate compassion for ourselves and others.

Students will walk away from this class with an understanding of the view and technique of meditation practice in the Shambhala tradition.
