June 28th

Date details +
    Room: Main Shrine Room

    Free - Open to All

Shambhala New York is delighted to announce a new series of community gatherings centered around ongoing volunteer appreciation and education.

All volunteers - newer, experienced, as well as those looking to get involved - are warmly invited to an evening of socializing, relaxing and workshopping. Please join us as we gather to chat and enjoy each other's company over pizza, salad, wine and sparkling beverages. Then, we'll transition into a fun and hands-on skills building workshop to explore an aspect of volunteering at the center.

Throughout the series, topics for exploration will include how to be an umdze (timekeeper) during a program or public sitting, how to open and close a shrine, becoming familiar with the kitchen and the physical environment of the center, how to offer water to a teacher and how to set up and work with the center's audio equipment.

Tonight's workshop topics: How to Umdze, How to Offer Water Service

Have you been interested in getting involved at the Shambhala Center but unsure how? Or are you a dedicated volunteer looking for a chance to see old friends and meet new community members? Now offered on an ongoing basis, each Volunteer Social is a wonderful opportunity to commune with fellow inspired practitioners, have some fun and learn (or re-learn) about how you can get involved at the center.

Thank you for RSVPing (Registering) in advance!
