Self-Care Sunday is a day-long urban retreat held in the style of a traditional day of open meditation known as a Nyinthün. This day of soft practice structure provides a caring space to nurture your meditation practice while enjoying some uninterrupted down time.

We’ll ease into our day with guided meditation, a dharma talk, questions and discussion. We'll make time for shamatha yoga (a gentle form of practice) and gentle movement.

In the afternoon, we'll relax into ongoing sitting and walking meditation. Throughout the day, the community room is available for quiet reading, drawing, writing, or any other nourishing activity you've been craving.

By taking time to relate to ourselves, we can find new inspiration for relating to others.

The Shambhala Meditation Center extends a 20% discount on this program to all Caregivers. The discount is designed for nurses, social workers, and the like, but can also apply to any person caring for a sick or elderly relative or friend.  If you feel you are extending care to others, please feel confident accepting this discount. For details, inquire with the Registar. To utilize this offering, email or call 212-675-6544. Please make arrangements in advance.
