Annual Appeal

The Shambhala Meditation Center of New York provides an oasis where thousands of New Yorkers learn to meditate each year.  We are the most accessible place – for new practitioners and experienced meditators alike- to learn, study, and practice mindfulness and compassion in a strong, supportive environment.

Program fees only cover a portion of our very lean budget. More than half of our funding comes from membership dues and annual contributions from people like you who recognize the importance of the Center in their lives.

Donation Acknowledgment

The Shambhala Meditation Center of New York is a division of Shambhala International (Vajradhatu) a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Donations to the Shambhala Meditation Center of New York are tax deductible under IRS 170(f)(8). Our Tax ID number, should you require it, is 23-7424163. Single monetary gifts under $250 do not require a tax letter from the Center in order to be claimed as charitable donations on your tax returns.

As required by New York State law, single donations of $250 or more will be formally acknowledged within 30 days after the end of the tax year. These tax acknowledgement letters will include all monetary gifts received from the donor for the tax year (membership dues included).
