Ethan Nichtern is a teacher in the Shambhala tradition and the senior teacher in residence for the NY Shambhala community. He is the author of The Road Home: A Contemporary Exploration of the Buddhist Path and, most recently, The Dharma of ‘The Princess Bride.’ He is also the founder of The Interdependence Project, an organization dedicated to Buddhist-inspired meditation and psychology, transformational activism, mindful arts, and meaningful media. Dr. Shanté Paradigm Smalls is a Teacher, Mentor, and Meditation Instructor in the Shambhala Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. Shanté has been a meditation practitioner since age 16 and a Shambhalian since 2006.

In their working life, Dr. Smalls is an assistant professor of Black Literature & Culture at St. John’s University, a dog enthusiast, sci fi nerd, and yoga practitioner.

David Perrin is a teacher and meditation instructor in the Shambhala tradition. David has held various posts in Shambhala Governance and Leadership at the Center. Trained in the disciplines of dharma art, as well as creative arts therapy, David has collaborated with youth and adults across a variety of therapeutic, recreational, and educational settings. With over twenty-five years experience working in the third sector he has served in various governance, administrative, and field posts ranging from direct-service to social change philanthropy. David lives in New York City with his wife and three children.
