Community
"Sangha" is the Sanskrit term for "community of practitioners" - one of the three jewels of Buddhism. The Shambhala Meditation Center of New York is home to a wonderfully diverse community who share a genuine connection to contemplative practice and the aspiration to realize a more wakeful, sane society. Friends and members of the Shambhala Center are welcome to attend celebrations, practice events, meetings and gatherings of special interest groups.

COMMUNITY GROUPS
The Shambhala Meditation Center encourages a diverse group of individuals to explore common interests together so that we can more fully realize the joining of Shambhala principles and practices to our everyday life. Community gatherings and groups help us fulfill our role as sangha, or community of practitioners, by supporting one another on our individual paths of self-discovery. All gatherings are open to the public, and no one is turned away for lack of funds.
