This campaign has been our most successful to date, and 2016 itself has been a tremendous year for Shambhala New York, both in terms of challenges and successes.

We’ve been faced with the greatest expenses in the organization’s history — an increase of $250,000 annually, due primarily to an increase in rent and occupancy expenses. Yet, despite this tremendous increase, Shambhala New York has had one of our best financial year ever in terms of program revenue and membership. We’re growing!

This year alone:

  • More than 200 people took a Level 1 program, marking an all-time high for Shambhala Training enrollment.
  • More than 500 programs were offered this year, including Shambhala Training, affinity groups, Learn to Meditate, and community practice events.
  • 35 of our members attended Enlightened Society Assembly and Warrior Assembly; and 10 of our members attended Sacred World Assembly.
  • 55 teachers in training completed Shambhala New York’s annual Teacher Training.
  • 110 individuals participated in at least one day of our annual summer Weekthün – a record high enrollment.
  • 100 new members joined our community.

 

Achieving this goal will not only solidify 2016 as one of our most financially successful years, but it will also allow for the organization to have a cushion going into 2017 and beyond.
